APPELLATE ATTORNEY Of Record

As the appellate attorney, Dabney Finch takes the lead role in bringing or defending an appeal. The scope of work is based on the length of the trial court proceedings, the size of the record, and the complexity of the issues. Fees are quoted on a flat rate / not to exceed basis. A free evaluation is extended to trial lawyers and an in depth consultation is available for a flat rate of $500, which is then credited against the fee on appeal.

CONSULTANT Not of Record

As a consultant to the attorney of record, Ms Finch is available during the critical post-trial phase while the case is still under the jurisdiction of the trial court to draw upon her experience and specialist expertise. Involvement in this phase can be very beneficial in long-term strategy considerations.

FEE SCHEDULE 2011

Flat Rate “ not to exceed” quoted after evaluation. Flat Fee covers all services included on appeal: launching the appeal, designating and organizing the record, communications with client, reviewing the record, research and writing of briefs, “legal research costs, oral argument, routine procedural matters and exploring settlement when applicable.
Fee is paid up front unless otherwise agreed. Outside expenses such as court filing fees, shipping, travel and court records are included in the flat fee quoted.
Fees may be paid on contingency for defending your insurance defence win on appeal and other pre-qualified cases such as anti-SLAPP motions.
